medievalpoc is a white woman faking lakota and romani heritage, which she uses to barge into academic discussions she has no place in. she does not have any qualifications in medieval studies or art history. EVERY time she tries to comment on race in premodern era/middle ages, SHE IS WRONG, in part because she has never, not once, bothered to consider the importance of antisemitism in medieval-early modern-modern racial thought (IT IS EXTREMELY! IMPORTANT!) and also that she betrays 0 understanding of premodern race theory and also SHE IS WRONG ABOUT BASIC FUCKING STUFF THAT NO ART HISTORIAN OR MEDIEVALIST WOULD BE WRONG ABOUT

They are very much Antisemitic and anti-Romani, and were caught lying about being both Lakota and Romani.
They routinely mislabel White Mediterraneans as PoC, and suggested that Jewish and Romani Europeans were “too White-passing” to be included in their blog, which is completely historically revisionist like holy shit I should not have to explain why that is so very very wrong.
They also apply US-centric racial identities to Medieval Europe, and that is also hugely problematic and incredibly revisionist. They’ve been called out by Native American, Romani, Jewish, and Amazigh bloggers, as well as by bloggers of various Mediterranean ethnic groups for (a) completely rewriting the history of these people, (b) using slurs and ethnocentric/racist language, and © mislabeling members of these ethnic groups as White or PoC. They even called a Romani blogger a “swarthy c*nt” while fraudulently claiming a Romani ethnic identity.
They have even been called out by several Black European bloggers for their complete misunderstanding of history and race in Europe, and they’ve also been accused of fetishizing Black people. They also have a habit of using “Black hair types” to determine and claim that the subject in artwork is Black, even when that goes against the actual description given by actual art historians.
So, please, do not reblog from MPoC. They are taking advantage of people’s ignorance and have been super awful towards Jewish and Romani bloggers who have corrected them more times than I can count. There are much better sources for information on the history of non-White people in Europe.

She straight up stole people’s powwow photos off of Flickr and claimed they were hers. She also used to claim to be “10% Mexican” (what on earth does that even mean) and plagiarized her father’s history from an actual Native person who used to be prominent on Tumblr.
