cuz some black kid made a joke and said “your hairline is shaped like a hill so go figure that out” and the rest is history

He actually doesn’t….if you see his interview with Oprah in the early 2000’s when she asks him about it they literally explain how it became a rumor in the late 90’s. The rumor was that he said “I don’t want black ppl wearing my clothes” behind the scenes on the Oprah show even though he never even visited her show til years later.

yes that part is a rumor but he eventually said he didn’t like that his clothes became popular with rappers and was trying to get back to his “original demographic.” it was in ny mag i’m gonna go find the link.
